Camilla – who goes by @camilla.and.family on TikTok – has gone viral on the social media platform after sharing that her husband gives her $208 every month – or nearly $2,500 a year – to acknowledge the challenges women face.

“This tax is to compensate me for the fact that I have to have a period every single month, have two brutal pregnancies where I vomited most days, and then I had two C-sections,” she explained in the video.

The “woman tax” might seem like an unusual concept, but you might be surprised to learn that the idea actually came from her husband.

The TikToker explained that the tax funds her regular self-care routine. “He pays for my mani and pedi twice a month,” she said.

The payments are made in $104 installments, and Camilla says they’re worth every penny. “I cannot explain how happy getting a mani and pedi makes me, and it really does make up for that week of bleeding,” she added.

The content creator justifies the payments by pointing out the disparities between men and women. “Women honestly have such a hard time. I feel like men got away very easy in this life so yeah, men should be paying woman tax,” she said in the video.

For the content creator, the arrangement isn’t just about pampering herself – it’s about setting an example for her kids.

She wants them to know “they should be taken care of and also take care of themselves”.

“Where do ya find men that do this!!” one commenter asked. Another chimed in, “God you are so blessed to have a man that thinks like that.”

A third praised: “What a lovely husband you have!! You are right, setting a great example for your girls!” and while a fourth quipped: “Does your husband want to pay woman tax for others too? It is me, I am others.”

One person shared their experience, writing: “My partner pays for my nails and feet and it makes me feel good,” and a second echoed: “My husband pays $120 out of each of his paycheck for my ‘woman tax’ his coworker thought it was dumb. So lucky I have my husband.”
